Additional Funding Granted to the Library!
Recently, the Forest Lodge Library was notified of an additional funding opportunity through the Flexible Facilities Grant. We had previously been awarded the Flexible Facilities…
Forest Lodge Library is getting ready to move into our beautiful new building, and we are still looking for a few more volunteers to help make the transition a success!
A few helping hands before we move – Tuesday, September 22nd and Wednesday, September 23rd
Looking for a few people to come help get ready and put together the collapsed boxes
Everyone is welcome to help, and no special experience is needed.
Whether you can stay for an hour, an afternoon, or a full day, your help will make a difference!
Monday, September 28 – Friday, October 2
Volunteers are welcome to arrive as early as 9:00 a.m.
We could especially use a few additional helpers on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
There will be a variety of tasks, including:
• Moving boxes and materials
• Unpacking and shelving books
• Reading and facing shelves
• Cleaning and organizing
• Helping get the new library ready for opening
We will provide directions, collection maps, and clearly marked shelves.
Don’t worry if you can only help for a short time! Take breaks whenever you need them and stay for as long as you are able. Every hour—and every pair of hands—helps!
We will provide a sandwich bar lunch each day, along with snacks, water, and other refreshments. Many thanks to Velo for generously donating coffee and cookies for our volunteers! Your welcome to bring your own lunch/snacks as well.
Please enter through the south (County M) entrance of the new library at 13430 County Hwy M, Cable.
Please do not park in the new parking lot. There is still work that needs to be done at this point. After work has been completed, we want it to set and cure as long as it can.
We will also hold a Volunteer Appreciation Gathering on Friday, October 2 at 4:00 p.m. in the Community Room. We will have cupcakes and refreshments and take some time to celebrate and thank everyone who helped make this move possible!
Interested in helping? Come join us!
If you have questions or would like more information about volunteering during moving week, please contact Forest Lodge Library.
We are so grateful to our community for helping us turn this new building into our new library home. We couldn’t do it without you! ❤️📚
I think this version would work particularly well as a Facebook post because someone who hasn’t previously signed up can read it quickly and immediately understand when to come, what they’ll be doing, and that they don’t have to commit to an entire day.

The learning center of the community
Lodged in a rustic 1925 built log cabin, the Forest Lodge Library is a joint library of the Cable and Namakagon communities and is located on County Highway M in downtown Cable, Wisconsin. The library is open six days a week and its services and programs are available to area patrons and visitors alike. The library shares a campus with the Cable Natural History Museum and both facilities are destinations you won’t want to miss when in the Cable/Namakagon area.
